Foam rolling is a type of myofascial release (MFR self-massage) that eases muscle tension. Rolling allows you to use your own body weight to address pesky knots in muscles and work toward relief. While deep tissue massage can alleviate muscle dysfunction in the body, it is not always practical.
You will learn effective, safe rolling techniques, self-massage techniques with other myofascial tools, as well as how your muscles function in order to better address muscle imbalances, previous injuries, etc.
What to bring: Water and yoga mat (if you prefer to use your own), foam roller (if you prefer to use your own), otherwise one will be provided for you.
Foam Rolling is not recommended for people who are pregnant, arthritis, bleeding disorders, blood clots, advanced diagnoses. If you have any medical conditions, consult your doctor and obtain a release prior to registering for the workshop.
